A big red ball bounced right off the side of his head.
They were flying around the room everywhere.
He couldn’t believe what he’d gotten himself into.
My Dad was at one of Frank Kern’s conferences at the Hard Rock hotel in San Diego.
This was back when Kern was flaunting his “dumb surfer dude makes millions online” persona.
It was 2010 and Frank had offered this conference as a bonus for anyone who bought his List Control product.
My Dad was way out of his element there. Lol!
He picked the big red ball up off the ground, spun it around, and found the following 3-word phrase in big bold white letters:
“BUY MY SH!T” (Of course, there weren’t any exclamation points on these balls. Gotta keep this email outta spamland.)
Only Kern, my Dad thought.
There actually was a point to the big red balls, though. Kern went on to talk about psychology on how it worked in sales.
My Dad told me this story when he got back from the event. I went through that entire List Control training afterwards.
It was the first time I was introduced to a very powerful persuasion technique called an embedded command… albeit a very direct, obvious example here.
Nonetheless, it was my introduction to subconscious persuasion. From that moment on I became obsessed with learning everything I could on the subject.
Books, courses, movies, videos… anything and everything.
I took all I learned and applied it where I could to affiliate marketing.
It worked. REALLY, well. After fine-tuning my methods over the years, I’ve finally gotten it dialed in nearly to perfection.
I’ve only shown this to 5 other people on the entire planet.
I showed one of my buddies recently and his response was, “Dude!! How did you come up with this?!”
With years of studying persuasive psychology coupled with years of trial and error applying it to affiliate marketing.
What is it? In short, it’s an Automated Conversion Machine.
That’s the secret sauce to success. It doesn’t matter what traffic source you use.
Traffic is traffic. Sure, some networks have better quality traffic than others but that’s really the only difference.
I can go buy a million visitors and send them to any page on the internet right now if I wanted to.
There’s no secrets there. Still unsure how to make paid traffic work?
I’ll start by saying this:
Profitable campaigns are not born… they’re engineered over time.
That’s a writer-downer.
Here’s how to run a profitable paid traffic campaign at ANY traffic network:
You set up a campaign…
Let it run for 3 or 4 days…
At the end of those 3 or 4 days, see which segment of the campaign worked the best…
Scale the highest-performing segment and kill the rest.
There ya go… the secret to paid traffic, revealed.
I’ve seen courses sold for $2,000 or more teaching just that.
Obviously, they added HOURS of filler content that really just wasn’t necessary but that’s what you gotta do if you’re selling $2k course on something that can be explained in less than 30 minutes.
Hopefully you’re getting the point. Quit focusing on the traffic network. It just doesn’t matter.
If your business is built around a single traffic network… you’re playing with fire, my friend.
One slip up and you’re toast. Back to square one. That’s why I’ve never been a fan of black-hat affiliate marketing.
I like to build passive income streams that last. If I’m gonna spend my time building an affiliate business, I want it to be around for AT LEAST 6 months… preferably 6 YEARS.
And that right there, building a long-term affiliate business, is just not taught by many people.
I can count on one hand the number of trainings I’ve seen teaching LEGIT long-term affiliate business strategies.
Forget about anything that relies on free traffic. By just saying the phrase ‘RELIES ON”… immediately disqualifies it as long-term.
If you want to build a true long-term affiliate business, it absolutely MUST operate stand-alone, by itself, completely removed from any and all traffic sources.
Let me explain what I mean by that…
If I wanted to put a billboard up on the side of the road of the busiest highway in the world, with just my website’s domain name on it…
I should be able to make that work and make money.
No help from the ad network.
No pre-qualification because they read my entire Facebook ad to warm them up.
The domain name alone was intriguing enough to get them to take action.
Once they hit the site, my homepage is crafted in such a way that it virtually grabs their hand and leads them down the path I want them to take.
And, the path I want them to take includes a few “scheduled stops” along the way.
A few subconscious conditioning tactics here…
A few persuasion hacks there…
And, a plethora of micro-commitments throughout their entire journey.
So, by the time I’ve led them all the way down the path and they reach the end…
It’s dang-near impossible for them NOT to buy. It mentally PAINS them to say “No” at that point.
It’s as if I’ve casted a “Buy My Sh!t” spell on them and at the very moment I tell them to buy something (either mine or an affiliate product I’m promoting)… they’re forced to buy.

In all seriousness, this framework can be replicated in tons of different niches.
These automated conversion machines can be engineered from scratch in an almost templatized manner.
