Let me start by saying this… if you’re expecting to find a whole list of things that each company offers and how much each of their plans cost… you’re on the wrong page.
This is NOT one of those reviews.
If you’re looking for that stuff, just go look at their sales pages. It’s all there.
I’m assuming, because you went to the trouble of doing a search for the phrase “ClickFunnels vs. Leadpages”, that you actually want REAL advice on which software is better and WHY.
That’s what you’ll find on this page.
Am I an affiliate for these companies? Yes, for one of them. The other one I will not be recommending, therefore I don’t want to be compensated if you choose to go with them.
Is that weird? That I’m not putting an affiliate link to every product that I possibly can… maybe.
I don’t care. Look at the title of this post… “blatantly honest review”. No smoke and mirrors here.
I don’t think it’s fair to either company to promote them both on the same page… include an affiliate link for both of them… even though I’m really only choosing one winner.
And, I only use one of these tools myself.
Don’t get me wrong… I’ve used just about every page builder, funnel tool, and automation software imaginable.
I’ve spent thousands of dollars of my own money testing each one to determine which is the best option.
What you’re getting here is my honest review of who is the best choice between these two page builder softwares.
ClickFunnels vs Leadpages: The Biggest Overarching Difference Between The Two
One is a page builder and one is a funnel builder. That’s the biggest difference. Listing all of the bells and whistles that each one includes or doesn’t include is pointless.
One is a page builder and one is a funnel builder.
It’s pretty easy to figure out which is which just by looking at their names. ClickFunnels is the funnel builder and Leadpages is the page builder.
Sure, you could build a funnel with Leadpages and yeah, obviously you can build pages with ClickFunnels.
However, unless you’ve actually attempted to build out an entire funnel, you have no clue how important the difference between these two types of tools can be.
And how much agony and anguish can be caused by choosing the wrong one. Seriously. I’m not just being dramatic here.
Listen: I spent hours… and I mean many, MANY hours… attempting to build out a small 4-step funnel (squeeze page » sales page » upsell page » 2nd upsell page) in Leadpages only to discover that I couldn’t implement TRUE 1-click upsells.
That was a dealbreaker for me. Should I have done my research ahead of time? Yes, absolutely.
I wish I had found a review like this one online back then. I wasn’t so lucky.
So, the 1-click upsell thing crushed my dreams of building a flawless info-product funnel using Leadpages.
In case you’re not familiar with 1-click upsells, it’s a feature that allows your new customer to make additional purchases with the click of just one button (after they’ve purchased your front-end product) without having to enter all of their payment info again.
Here’s an example of a ClickFunnels 1-Click Upsell:
If they click the orange button on the left, the card they used to purchase the front-end product will automatically be charged $47.
If they click the gray the button on the right, they’ll be taken to the next step in the funnel.
That’s a TRUE 1-click upsell. At the time, when I was using Leadpages, they did not offer this feature… it was really a multi-step upsell.
In some cases, when a customer chooses to add something to their order, new shopping cart fields are shown and the visitor has to re-enter their payment info again.
Their checkout and upsell process still seems really goofy and confusing for customers to use. It’s just harder than it needs to be.
It’s not like that with ClickFunnels.
To me, Leadpages will always be a page builder. Just a page builder.
Basically, if all you need to create are landing pages or simple 2-page funnels (squeeze page and thank you page), then Leadpages will work great for you.
But if you want to create FUNNELS… I highly suggest you go with ClickFunnels.
ClickFunnels vs. Leadpages: Why ClickFunnels Beats The Snot Outta Leadpages
Lets get down to the nitty gritty.
Because I know people are gonna argue with me… saying “you can build funnels with Leadpages”… blah, blah, blah.
Quich yer whining. (Yeah I said it.)
Here comes the blatantly honest stuff… so if you’re easily offended, stop reading, click the ‘Back’ button, and be on your merry way.
I’m about to start “sinking” the ships of the Leadpages diehards.
ClickFunnels Has Order Form Bumps
An order form bump is a little section you can put on your order form that includes a special offer that you don’t make anywhere else.
If the user clicks the checkbox next to the order form bump, that product will also be added to their order.
Here’s an example of an order form bump from Russell Brunson’s Dot Com Secrets Free Book Offer:
Order form bumps have been shown to convert as high as 70% when the offer is congruent with the product being purchased.
ClickFunnels Has Entire Funnel Sharing Capabilities
When it comes to ClickFunnels vs. Leadpages in regards to sharing the page templates you design… ClickFunnels blows Leadpages out of the water.
Leadpages offers a “share” feature but you can only share one page at a time. What about the rest of the funnel?
ClickFunnels allows you to share the ENTIRE funnel! Check it out:

ClickFunnels vs. Leadpages: Drag and Drop Editor
In my opinion, the editor layout for ClickFunnels makes way more sense and is much easier to use.
Everything is super simple to find and the things you would expect to be able to edit on your pages, you can.
When I used Leadpages, I found myself constantly having to do custom CSS edits to get different elements to display exactly how I wanted them.
I rarely have to mess with custom CSS in ClickFunnels.
ClickFunnels Has Membership Functionality
Talk about an all-in-one marketing solution. I’ve literally built an online business in a matter of just a few hours and it had everything you would expect from any other online business.
A squeeze page to offer a free report.
A sales page to sell a front-end product.
An upsell page to make a special offer.
A membership site to generate recurring revenue.
And that’s just the front-end funnel.
If I were to build all of that out using something other than ClickFunnels, it would take AT LEAST three tools to make it happen… probably more like five.

ClickFunnels Has Awesome Conversion Tracking
Not many shopping carts can even say that they have decent conversion tracking as a part of their native platform.
ClickFunnels uses Google Analytics to track everything. Here’s just some of what you can track:
- Earnings per click
- Gross sales
- Average cart value
- Number of page views for every page in the funnel
- Number of opt-ins, and the conversion rate, for your squeeze page
- Earnings per page view
But the best part is, you can see EXACTLY which traffic source is responsible for all of those metrics. Take a look:

In case you haven’t figured it out, my recommendation is ClickFunnels. They’re an all around better option and they’re priced pretty fairly for all that’s offered.
