I was approached Friday by the fine folks over at Cloudways who were looking for my help.
I signed up to be an affiliate for them a few months back because they are, without a doubt, the best web hosting company I’ve ever used.
And, I’ve used them all.
I actually wrote a blog about that recently: What I Learned From Spending $12,614.81 On WordPress Managed Hosting.
Over the last few months, I’ve referred more than 30 people to Cloudways (read: I made more than 30 affiliate sales for them).
Nothing earth-shattering… $1,750 in affiliate commissions over a few month’s time.
But to them (Cloudways), it was impactful. Here’s what they said:
“We are approaching 2020, and you have so much experience around affiliate marketing, what advice do you have for the affiliate world in the coming year? We will add your advice, with your name, to our upcoming post, Affiliate Marketing Tips for 2020, and publish it to our blog.”
My advice, in just five letters, is…
E – M – A – I – L
Shocker, right? Lol! If you’ve known me for even just one day, you know how strongly I feel about building an email list.
Yes, even as an affiliate.
Crazy thing is, when most people think about affiliate marketing, building an email list rarely crosses their mind.
It’s a shame because email lists are assets that provide consistent, reliable income.
Much better than the sporadic results most affiliate campaigns produce.
There’s a really easy way to start building an email list as an affiliate.
I actually wrote an entire blog post on that as well: My Secret Affiliate List-Building Strategy.
If you find my posts useful, please share them. I’d appreciate it!
Dream big. Take action.
