Your Webinar Ignition Blueprint to $1 Million
Have I made a million dollars with Webinar Ignition? Um, no. The product isn’t even available until January 6, 2014 (it’s January 2, 2014 as I write this). This is merely a guide, an idea, something we all know to be possible but must put forth the effort to reap the rewards.
Webinars really have to fit into your business model for this to work. But don’t worry, I have a plan for those of you who are starting from scratch.
Again, Webinar Ignition is just the tool that makes all of this possible. You will be the magic to the million bucks. So, here we go!
Lets start with our $1,000,000 goal. This is something Dan Kennedy enlightened me on… he slapped something onto the Elmo projector and said, “There are a bunch of ways to make it to a million bucks, which seems the easiest to you?”
Here’s what I saw on the Elmo…

1,000 Sales @ $1,000

Making a $1 sale is a helluva lot easier than making a $1 million dollar sale but making 1,000,000 $1 sales is pretty dang hard to do. It makes you think a lot about the quality of the sale instead of the dollar amount.
Dan went on to say this, “Only 20% of the population says they make their buying decisions based on price.”
That’s HUGE! Marketers spend so much time worrying about price that they lose focus on the quality of what they’re selling. Money is not an issue for 80% of the population.
So if you’re concerned about selling “high-ticket” products… don’t be. 80% of the people don’t care.
Lets get back to the drawing board.
From my personal experience, I’ve seen products sold on webinars ranging from $47 all the way up to $12,000. But I’d say the average price point for products sold via webinar is $497. That’s the AVERAGE.
Lets break that down. At $497, you would need to make 2,103 sales a year to break through your million dollar goal. That’s about 168 sales a month, 39 sales a week or 6 sales a day.
You may be thinking to yourself, “So I have to run a frickin’ webinar every dang day?!” No. You could if you want… but that’s seems a bit crazy to me.
I gave you the numbers you need to hit your per week and per month goals. You need to do one webinar per month and make 168 sales at $497 or one webinar per week and make 39 sales at $497.
You can cut those numbers in half by increasing the price of your product to $997. On the other hand, you’d have to sell twice as much if you cut the price down to $247.
Increasing the Lifetime Customer Value of Each Buyer
Here’s the thing… the hardest part of all of this is getting someone to whip out their wallet while they’re on the webinar with you. That’s hands down the hardest part and it’s what most people completely miss.
It absolutely drives me nuts when I walk into a local establishment only to be snubbed by their employees (and sometimes the frickin’ owner!). They just don’t realize how much time and money it takes just to get someone to walk through the doors.
Don’t make this mistake. When someone wants to hand you money… don’t make them jump through hoops. Make it easy for them to give you money.
Secondly, when you find someone who wants to give you money, offer them something else. Known in the marketing world as an upsell or backend sale.
So in your webinar funnel, you make a $497 sale. I’d say that’s a pretty good quality prospect. If they could afford $497, they can surely afford $97 more for an “upgraded version”.
Just make sure you don’t screw up the initial sale. Make the $97 upsell after the initial sale. AND, make it an upgrade or for something completely different that they might need.
For $497, people expect to have everything they need already included. Don’t tick them off with your upsell. A great example for an upsell would be a “done for you” offer. They either want it or they don’t.
Now lets look at the numbers again.
An average upsell conversion rate (if done correctly) is 30%. If 30% of your $497 buyers take the $97 upsell, that’s an additional $61,207 a year. Now your total of 2,103 buyers needed to reach your million dollar goal drops down to only 1,980 needed (math is a little off but close enough to get my point across).
What I really want you to understand is how important it is to increase your Lifetime Customer Value. Especially if you’re paying for traffic. It could cost you anywhere from $10 to $50 to acquire a customer using paid traffic online. The more money you make off each buyer, the more you can afford to spend to get them.
IMPORTANT: The person who can spend the most on customer acquisition wins the marketing game.
How to Attract Big-Spending Webinar Attendees
The last piece to this puzzle is traffic. You need traffic. Whether it’s free or paid, you need it. AND, you need a funnel to convert that traffic into buyers.
The webinar is just the tool you use to get your sales message consumed and the product sold. Getting people on the webinar is a completely different process.
