It was early Saturday morning.
My house was super quiet.
I was the only one awake.
I was scrolling through Instagram (which happens only about once a week).
Something caught my eye.
I stopped scrolling.
No, it wasn’t an ad.
It was a video from a marketing friend of mine.
He’s in a niche VERY far removed from anything marketing related.
My favorite niches.
He was looking for affiliates to promote an upcoming launch.
Now, I need to make something clear before I tell you how I created this $5k/month business.
I rarely promote launches, if ever.
Unless…
They meet the criteria that his particular launch met very well.
That criteria goes like this:
» Must be a legit product by a respected authority in the niche.
» Must have TRUE scarcity associated with the deadline of the launch.
» Must be worth my time both monetarily and socially.
Those are my 3 biggest requirements for launches.
The biggest of those three being TRUE scarcity. Which most launches don’t have.
By TRUE scarcity, I don’t mean it needs to have an invented deadline when the launch will be “closing”.
Sure, it’s a valid deadline. The launch IS closing but that’s not a good enough reason for someone to buy.
The TRUE scarcity needs to be tied in with the offer somehow.
There needs to be a reason for someone to buy this offer RIGHT NOW… before it’s too late… and they shouldn’t wait another minute.
Anyhoo…
This particular launch was perfect in my mind.
So perfect that I had to act fast.
I was already a week behind every other affiliate who was on board and the pre-launch was beginning in three days.
I was brand new to this niche.
No prior email list.
No existing traffic coming in already.
No previous contacts or connections in this niche at all.
I was starting from complete SCRATCH.
Here’s the thing though, and this is why I jumped all over this FAST:
There’s long-term, evergreen potential in this niche.
More than that…
There’s MASSIVE earning potential here.
And…
I had a “trick” up my sleeve.
Something I had been sitting on for years.
Something I KNEW would work but never tried.
So, how did I do it?
Very simple.
It’s three basic steps.
- Drive traffic to a squeeze page (landing page).
- Build an email list from that traffic.
- Promote the offer (the launch) to those subscribers.
There’s a special kind of traffic I recommend here.
It assures you’re attracting the right TYPE of person for the offer you’re promoting.
There’s also a very specific “bribe” to use on your squeeze page to get someone to opt-in.
